A Short Introduction to that Which is Closest To Us But Remains Shrouded in Mystery

Shalom! 👋 This is the Intro to the 12-Part XL Series on the Soul. I hope you enjoy it!

Here's a trippy thought for you:

Take a look at yourself in the mirror…Pause for a moment to consider that according to some estimates, just 10 years ago, you didn’t possess any of the molecules that currently comprise your body. 

This is because every 10 years, all the stuff you’re physically made of gets flushed out of your system, and is replaced with the food you eat.

This is weird because you probably think of yourself as your body, and if you’re not your body, who are you? 

What would happen if we scanned you and 3-D printed you somewhere else?  Let’s say we can also download your memories to artificial intelligence. Would you then exist in two places?

This is much more than just philosophy and cocktail conversation.  This is about your identity. 

Everything about you, every decision you make, the career you choose, the person you date, every little blessed detail of your life, 24 hours a day, all rests on one question: how do you see yourself? 

This should really make you wonder:

Is your perception of yourself in line with who you REALLY are?  How accurate is your sense of ESSENCE which doesn’t change no matter what changes around you??

Think about how many changes you go through in life from childhood to adulthood and think about how many changes you have ahead of you.  And with all of those major changes, how can you stay rooted in the true you?

How can you live your life connected to the thing we call your soul?

Just warning you though: it only gets trippier from here. 

You may never look in the mirror the same way again, but I guarantee you that if you train your eyes to see the true you the payoff is nothing short of life changing. Your self-perception and your perception of others depends on it.
